I have released a new version of Multi TV, where I made significant changes to the channel layout. You can continue using the app from the same address, and the code is available on GitHub.
It's exciting to observe that the number of users following live broadcasts through the application spikes during moments of national and global crises, with an average of 500 daily users. It’s also gratifying to see the source code being used or modified to create new versions, and even new applications inspired by the multi-viewing feature.
Foreign news outlets like Al Jazeera, CNA, Sky News, and Fox are frequently viewed thanks to the customizations available. For the next version, I plan to include foreign channels in the default channel list based on the app’s language setting.
Mobile and Smart TV Compatibility
Due to some compatibility issues with channel rearrangement on touch-screen devices like tablets and smartphones, I haven’t yet published Multi TV on app stores. However, you can visit the site using the Chrome browser on your mobile device and Add to Home screen via the browser menu to use it like an app.
There’s also a similar incompatibility when rearranging channels on Android TVs using a remote control. Additionally, smart TVs don’t offer optimal performance for multi-viewing. If I can resolve these issues, I plan to develop an app for app store release.
For Windows PCs, you can download Multi TV and use it like an app through Chromium-based browsers like Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge by using the Save and Share or Apps menu.
What's new in Multi TV 2.0?
In this new version, I’ve added a Spanish language option, and the default language is now automatically selected based on the browser’s language settings. Additionally, I developed a more compatible grid structure for 16:9 screens when watching multiple channels.
In previous versions, changing the number of channels would reset existing settings; this issue has been fixed in the new version. I also improved the Settings section by adding channel numbers that are fully compatible with 16:9 screens.
